北京大学第三医院始建于1958年，是卫生部部管集医疗、教学、科研和预防保健为一体的现代化综合性三级甲等医院，是2008年奥运会定点医院。现有在职职工2253人，病床1187张，日均门、急诊量8000多人次，连续10年居北京市各大医院前列。医院设有31个临床科室、 12个医技科室，有博士点23个、硕士点26个、临床博士后流动站1个。在岗博士生导师44人，中科院院士1人，长江学者1人。
五十载栉风沐雨，五十载春华秋实。经过几代人的努力，如今的北医三院正以崭新的面貌迈向新的征程。三院的发展离不开您的关注和支持，让我们情系医学，再聚三院，齐襄华诞，共谋发展，再创辉煌！

Announcement for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of Peking University Third Hospital

The beautiful season of golden autumn follows the emblazed Olympic passion. In October 2008, Peking University Third Hospital （PUTH）ushers in its 50th Birthday. The Hospital will hold a series of celebration activities to commemorate its 50 year history. On this auspicious occasion, the Hospital extends its sincerest wishes and lofty respect to all leaders, all coterie and all friends at home and abroad for your continuous concern and support to the development of the Hospital.
Peking University Third Hospital was founded in 1958 directly under Ministry of Public Health. It is a modernized and comprehensive (first-rate of Level three) hospital with integration of medical services, teaching, research and prevention and health care, and it has become one of the appointed hospitals for the Olympic Games in 2008. At present, the Hospital has a staff of 2,253 and 1187 clinic beds, and over 8,000 daily and emergency outpatient visits, which has kept its leading position among the hospitals in Beijing for 10 years. The Hospital has 31 clinical departments, 12 medical technique departments, 23 doctoral programs, 26 master’s programs, 1 postdoctoral program, 44 doctoral supervisors, 1 member of Chinese Academy of Science and 1 Chang Jiang Scholar.
Exposed itself to the winds and rains in the long and arduous journey, the Hospital has witnessed spring blooming and autumn fruiting for the past 50 years. With unremitting efforts of several generations, the present Hospital is striding into a new journey with brand-new visage. The development of Peking University Third Hospital needs your attention, participation and contribution!
